What are we watching this weekend?

I missed 3-Iron last weekend, so I'll probably do that. And, since I haven't been annoyed by a movie since Palindromes, I imagine I'll give Crash a try.

If you take a look at the cutting, erudite entry from yesterday called FUCKING CRAP ON A STICK, you'll note that I still haven't seen a first-run movie that I've paid for in the theater in months. All I have ventured out and opened my wallet for in recent weeks have been CLOSE-UP at BAM and THE RED SHOES at Walter Reade....yes they're stunningly great. But will I force myself to try out an unreliable newbie?

My advice to you (and all) is to not waste your money on 3-IRON; it's a hateful stinkpile of misogyny and magical realist bullcrap. Stay far far away; and Kim Ki-duk should be dragged through broken glass for his continual crimes against humanity.

THE HOLY GIRL on the other hand is probably one I'll see again. Although this doesn't solve my problem. Ok, so I reiterate, as I've said in weeks past: I kind of want to see DOWNFALL, BEST OF YOUTH, KUNG FU HUSTLE, and HOUSE OF WAX. Will I see any of these? Only time will tell....

"Crap on a stick", "bullcrap", "stinkpile", "shitpile" - is there a Joycian thesaurus I don't know about?

Oh, ESH, you're so charmingly puritan...

What a wondrous repository for vulgarity this blog is. For true veneration and balanced, nuanced, criticism, try the glorious Reverse Shot, our "sister" site, if you will.

So, yeah yeah, I bought into the buzz on "Layer Cake" and ponied up my $8 to see it. And, of couse, it was mehtastic, entertaining mostly because I could quietly oggle Daniel Craig in a stunning collection of blazers and marvel at Gambon's Paris Hilton-worthy faux tan.

And speaking of... I've seen "House of Wax" twice now...mostly because I found it so completely illogical the first time 'round that I was certain I'd been lulled into a coma by Paris' monotone whine and missed something. Nope, caught everything, it just sucks. Bonus points though, for sitting by a family the second time 'round that had brought their two children under the age of 7 with them.
