I don't know...it's tough...but that House of Wax one is fucking spectacular writing. So much insight, so much information, soooo much fondness for wax.

It's weird how little things change...whilst I was thinking about the good old days, when men were men and films featured husbands and wives sleeping in separate beds, I checked out the NY Times archives from '44. Their grandkids must be writing them these days.

a) Going My Way -- Bing finds God, still hitting the sauce, women.

b) Since You Went Away -- While father fights in the Pacific, Shirley Temple grows some boobies!

c) Wilson -- A life so grand, a failure as great as the League of Nations.

d) Laura -- Shady ladies and obsessive closet-cases; hope springs eternal

e) Double Indemnity -- His face like jagged glass, her shoulders like bronzed steel

f) The Miracle of Morgan's Creek -- One dizzy dame and her unwanted pregnancy: Where's "Jane Roe" when you need her!?
